Hey Leylop, did you know, although no one ever guesses it right, my ethnicity is actually Sri Lankan. As a kid (maybe like 6 or 7 years ago) I visited Sri Lanka too, although my memories are vague there are still some things ingrained in me.
One thing that you're first photo brought back to me was a lobster restaurant in a seaside shack that was beside train tracks that looked very much like the ones in your first picture. Great lobster :D
Can't wait to hear what you thought of the country from a more grown-up, recent and contemporary backpackers view. Good and bad, it's something I'll look forward too
