No anti-Japanese
Lately many anti-Japanese demonstrations are going on in China. Like last Saturday 10000 Chinese protesters marched through Beijing's streets, and Japanese embassy was attacked by some angry Chinese. It's sad that such things are still happening, my point on this issue is I'm not supporting on anti-Japanese movement at all, and I think that's stupid.
Yes, there's a war between China and Japan 60 years ago. 60 years, that's long time ago, get over it and move on. Some Chinese think that Japan owes China an apology and it's wrong that Japanese history books don't talk about the war. Yeah it's a shame that Japanese government doesn't have the courage to face the history, but 60 later some Chinese still hate Japan and Japanese because of the war, well that's way too much. And let's take a look at Tibet. Do Chinese history books ever mention the invasion of Tibet and Free Tibet movement? Do Chinese government ever talks about what happened in Tibet fifty years ago? Never ever. Chinese history books are not that objective on many issues themselves, what's point of blaming others?
And some Chinese hate Japanese people and Japanese products which seem to be more ridiculous to me. Ordinary people are innocent, and Japanese companies have nothing to do with the war. And as for Japan's bid for the Security Council seat, many countries want to be stronger and have big rolls in international society, I think that's quite understandable. If there's a good relationship between China and Japan, even Japan becomes the most powerful nation in the world, China has nothing to be afraid of.

Last week I travelled to Darjeeling, a hill station in northern India. I met two Japanese girl there and I like them very much. The first girl is Maiko, and two things surprised me. First, she's traveling alone-- I've met many Japanese guys who're travelling alone, but she's the first sole Japanese female traveller I met. And second, she speaks very good English. Usually, Japanese don't speak good English, and their accent is quite strong. Maiko has been travelling seven months now, and for her this trip is not just about visiting other countries, but also learning different cuisines. So far, she's been to Philippine learning how to cook Philippine food, and then in a small village of Nepal learning how to cook Nepalis food, now five months in India learning how to cook Indian food. She said she has one more country to go, and after that she'll go back to Japan and open her own restaurant. I like her passion for food and it's nice to have a goal in your life. After I said goodbye to Maiko, I met another Japanese girl Rika, she's also travelling alone, but her English is not good. She knows probably around 150 English words, but she's not able to put the words into proper sentences. So when we talked, it was always very short, and sometimes just word by word. But even like that, I still enjoy her company very much. We managed to communicate well, and sometimes when we couldn't understand each other, we wrote down what we wanted to say, as Japanese use some Chinese characters, wring is another good way to communicate with Japanese people. Even though like many Japanese travellers, Rika's English is quite bad, she's been travelling around five countries without any problem, and she'll head to Nepal and Myanmar after India. I admire the courage of Japanese travellers, you'll see them everywhere. And they seem to be quite tough, and able to deal with hard conditions quite well. Probably because of language barrier, sometimes they look very quiet, but even don't say a word to others, they still seem to enjoy travelling very much.

Great post about your feelings on the anti-Japanese fiasco going on right now. I feel exactly the same way and wish all Chinese did too..
Happy Travels!

If Japanese governors can do as Germans do towards the dark but TRUE history, I bet both Korean and Chinese won't have so much 'anti' movement. It's no big deal to make mistake as everyone does so, but the later attitude towards the mistake is a big deal.
Politics isn't merely a complicated thing, that's why I dislike it. =S
BTW, good luck with ur trip, leylop! =)

I agree, it is stupid to organize anti-Japanese protest, and it is one of the only protests that could be organized in China. You won't be able to demostrate if you are criticizing the Chinese government thought it does have so many problems.
By kapa, at 7:57 PM
Hi Leylop, you're just so right. If the chinese really knew how much they have done to own and others (even many years after the japanese were out of China), they wouldn't do this.
Check this link out : http://edition.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/asiapcf/04/13/china.japan.ap/index.html
And they even don't mention the killings and murdering during the occupations of Tibet, Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia; the textbooks in China does not say anything bad of these agressions !
Have a nice trip in India, and please take very good care of your stomach. I know a few, who came back home in an ambulance airplane...

OK.....................
I am an chinese-Canadian
my great grandfather fought the japs.
When I went to Japan, I saw a bit of racism.
it's just that, if there was a massacre that scale
it's very painful.
soo when the japanese textbooks are talking about the war was lost, well screw that!!!

the japanese and american race must be systematically wiped out from this world if peace and democracy is to prevail. the Great Bin Laden.

Well, I'm Japanese.
From my point of view, it's kinda understandable that Chinise and Korean ppl can hate Japan because of the WWII. But I want to say that normal Japanese ppl didn't wanna kill Chinese ppl in WWII, but they had to, or else they'd be killed by govn't. My grandpa also went to war during WWII and got shot in shoulder. They can hate Japanese government but not Japanese ppl. I don' know exactly what the new text book says, but if Chinese ppl don't like the book, then protest in proper way.
And we both can find a better solution.( of course, Japanese gov. have to try that!}
Also, I heard Japanese government apologized to China about war 17times by now. Maybe Japanese gov. should find another method of saying sorry. Or maybe Chinese ppl just never forget us.
By Anonymous, at 9:28 AM
alright, I am a Chinese American.
I have lots Japanese friends, and one of my ex is jappanese. I think most Japanese are great.
Probably the demonstrators should say "anti-japanese Right wing" instead of Japan as a whole, and throwing rock's definitely a no-no.
but you should step into Chinese/Korean's shoes to understand it. If your grandma or your countrymen were raped and killed, yet no public apology were ever heard, yet your prime minister publically worship those criminals in the shrine every year, what would you think?
if you are Jewish, and German are doing the samething(worshiping and change textbook), what would you think?
Japan *whisper* apologies 17 times? I guess those 1 point some billion Chinese never heard of it.
But again, it's up to the governments, from both side, to step up and make things right. Violence's never the solution.
Google list this page in top 10, good job blogging.

I am a Chinese. I have several Japanese friends. I visited Japan twice. Everyone treated me well with respect. I discussed with them about WWII. Most of them do not know anything about it. After I told them, their response is "Oh, Sorry". So there is no hatre and prejudice against Chinese people. So should we remember and promote all the hatres? I do not like what is going on in China. Is Culture Revolution caused by Mob mentality still being remembered? A simple pieceful demonstration followed by diplomatic effort should be enough! Attacking Japanese current generation and their business is wrong!!!

What the fcuk do you know about the history? We Chinese hate Japanese as Jewish to Germany after world war II!
Great Americans! americans killed tons of native Indian and took their land, then American said peace and freedom! Let's celerbrate Thinks Giving and columbus day!? WTF is that? answer me? maybe someday I can do that to your home and family? You better study past 8000 years Asia history, then you can wide open your pie hole, alright. By your definition, pearl harbor attack was a fun thing to USA, and those Americans who dead in pearl harbor attack was nothing but a piece of shit.
By great america spirit, at 6:58 AM
Chinese text book never covers their aggression to Tibet or the massacre of Japanese in the north china around the end of WW II. Japanese text book is just faire enough but they do not like not so many pages are devoted to china.
By ofn, at 9:46 AM
Great American Spirit ... talking like that just demeans yourself, and does nothing to further your viewpoint.
Anon: you wrote "Japan *whisper* apologies 17 times? I guess those 1 point some billion Chinese never heard of it."
The apologies are on the record, spoken by both Japanese heads of state, and by the Japanese emperor. And yes, you're right that the big majority of Chinese have never heard of it ... but if you're blaming the Japanese for that, you might be looking in the wrong direction ...
By Filthy Stinking No.9, at 6:39 PM
The apologies are on the record, spoken by both Japanese heads of state, and by the Japanese emperor.
Example 1: German apologized too. If its top leader going to worship at its SS museum every year, what would the Jewish people and the rest of the world think of the "apology"? how sincere is that?
I could see why Chinese never take Japanese's apology as acceptable one.
Example 2: 60 years later, if Afghanistan's government approve history textbook saying 911 was just "a way to liberate the American people". I bet Americans will jump up and down just like the Chinese do right now.

The reason behind these anti-Japanese protests is because they were extremely cruel. They not only massacred millions of people, they tortured them to death. Pumping water into people's mouths and then stepping on their stomachs, forcing the water to come out. they then repeat the process. If the people whom they have conquered listened to foreign radio stations, they would poke a pencil through their brains, right through their ear and out to the other. They were more cruel than the germans. There are other examples but i shall not elaborate. Furthermore, they are in denial of their history. I went to Japan once and at Nagasaki (place where atomic bomb was dropped)there was a signboard which said that the hole was caused by a natural disaster. How outrageous! The chinese government did not organize the protests, therefore they should not apologize.
By Anonymous, at 3:13 PM
"Get over it?" The Japanese killed millions of people all over Asia during the Pacific War and you're telling the victims of these atrocities to get over it? If you had been raped 20 times a day when you were 15 years old, would you be able to "get over it"?
For far too long, the West have focused on the attrocities committed by the Nazis during WW2 and ignored the attrocities committed in the East. Every child is taught about concentration camps and gas chambers. How many people know that the Japanese killed half the civilian population of a city that surrendered without a fight for no reason? How many people are taught about how the Japanese military threw babies in the air so that they would land on bayonets?
After WW2, Western nations carved a country out another sovereign nation for the Jewish people. Why did the Palestinians have to lose this land? Today, Palestinians who protest this are labeled as anti-Semetic.
Why haven't the Chinese been afforded the same level of sympathy? The reason is because their government is Socialist and is therefore, "evil".
Enough of this sympathy towards the Japanese. They deserve everything they get.
By Anonymous, at 3:44 PM
Saying sorry doesn't mean going back to ur old ways the next day.
Imagine if US government, after apologizing to African American for slavery and segregation, enact a new set of Jim Crew law the very next day. How about "hey slavery is ONE HUNDRED FIFTY years ago, so get over it"? or "African-American benefited from slavery because XYZ"? or "Black people become slaves willingly"?
Japanese has consistently backslided in their ways. Comments like "Comfort women offered themselves willingly", or "Nanjing nevered happened", etc are minority views like the controversial text book but they are not condemned like they are in US or Germany. In fact in Germany certain glorification of Nazi past is illegal. So where's the righteous Japanese politican saying "The text book is wrong"?
I am sickend at the insensitivity of the western commentators on this issue that precisely exposes their ignorance and bias.

Bullshit about the war is 60 years old and we should forget about it.
Japanese peoples and the government were responsible for the atrocities and horrible crimes commited not just in China and Korea but other Asian countries as well.
Time will come for Japan and the peoples to face reciprocity.

People who protest and riot should understand that the textbooks in argument are only 2 out of 63 official high school textbooks in Japan and controvercial 2 sentences or 3 numbers quoted there don't go too far in Japan as the nation embraces freedom of speech unlike its communist neigbors. Most Japanese have plenty of exposure anytime in their lives to what actually happened in WWII from both liberal and coservative stand points. The books about the rape of Nanjin is free to be published in Japan. Chinese should try to get freedom of speech before they get so emotional about foreign text books.

you are such a jerk. this thing has been in the Chinese psyche for a long time now and these wounds won't heal. If someone ruthlessly kills millions of you and raped hundreds of thousands of people, how owuld you feel? you probably are just a Japanese who hasn't felt pain before. My mother survived through those bombings, and you should have been there to actually feel what it's like before saying things like that! and besides, this is not just over textbooks... if you did your research that is!

you have some serious problems... cruelty beyond reason and beyond what the nazi did were done, and they have no remorse at all! you yourself must be a sadistic neonazi who loves to see people suffer!!

Japan as the nation embraces freedom of speech unlike its communist neigbors.
well, freedom of speech huh? An American can go out to NY Time Square and scream "Bush is a murderer!", or, an Japanese with consciousness can do the samething yelling "Japanese army kill 300000 ppl in Nanjing!" in busy Tokyo street---but how many people will hear it? Not many. The fact of the matter is, information is transfered by mass media, and mass media is owned by corporations. Corporation are also controlled by the the few individuals, who might reside or control the government also.
so your "freedom of speech" doesn't really go very far. Most people know what those few individuals WANT you to know.
That's why Bush's able to fool most Americans so he got elected the 2nd time. samething.
That's why those text books can be approved by the Japan education ministry, and most other mainstream textbooks don't focus much on the atrocities and horrific crime in the past, and most of my Japanese friends don't know much about what Japanese army did in WWII. If Freedom of speech's so powerful, why don't they know?
I don't see that much difference with this "freedom of speech" in the "democratic" Japan, or in the communist China.
for those who keep saying "it's 60 years ago" or "forget about it", are you one of the Japanese that feel bad about the past and want to make a better relationship with other asian neighbor?
then you wouldn't deny it at all.

JAPAN HAS NEVER BEEN SORRY FOR ITS IMPERIALIST PAST

Let me ask again: would it satisfy you people to round up and torture and kill some random Japanese people? Would this make you happier? If not, what would make you happy? What precisely do you think should be done to address injustices carried out by a former Imperialist country?
Let's hear some suggestions, I would like to know how people can stop protesting and feel that justice has been done.
P.S. The USA has killed many millions across the globe in similar fashion: why is no one protesting the fact the USA has never apologized for the war crimes commited by its armed forces in various conflicts or even obvious blunders such as shooting down that Iranian airliner? Is Japan to be held to a different standard? If so, why?

Was curious about the latest A-J happenings in China and found this interesting blog on GOOGLE.
This kinda situations are very hard to deal with... especially with recorded history. I can think of few examples where such sentiments were resolved. One is the the IRA and Great Britain, the other is Native americans and White settlers. But in both cases, economics play a big role. Ultimately, its economic wealth or higher standards of living that seems to have solved the problems. But economics do not heal a wounded heart. THe scars remain and if there's a depression, the issue can surface up again. The main thing now is to prevent the china-jap negetive sentiments from escalating into violence while the economy of China improves. Both sides need to play ball and not fuel a fire. And the people need to show restraint in not allowing themselves to become political pawns to serve a political party's hidden agenda. But i must say that the japanese were very brutal. The stories are true and i've heard them many times in my youth by the horse's mouth. Thing is, we need to know that we are all equally capable of committing the same crime just that we have not or had done before a long time in the past (racial riots). We cannot allow ourselvs to be occupied by the search of justice from the japs because at this moment, it can never satisfy the craving for more justice. Nevertheless, history cannot be ignored. But keep in my the pains India-pakistan, israel-palestin or the major and minority groups in Iraq are going through right now at this very moment. These people suffer because of a certain path they took. Right now, we have a chance of achieving greater triumph through higher standards of living and education. ASIANS reaching the moons or planet mars as such. A chance to write history in our favour. We also cannot allow political agendas to influence personal achievements in life or destory our chances of building up asia as a significant influence. Build up your families! Ensure they grow up socially responsible, educated and fully aware of the perils in an uncontrolled life and how to deal with problems. That i believe is a better goal that will defeat whatever enemy you may encounter. Theodore Roosevelt once said "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are". Coming from a broken home without a father for counselling, i must say that having a happy family with a good wife under the LORD as a Christian is a personal dream i have and share.
Know that each one is given 24hrs a day and its just how we spend it for not just ourselves but also our children.
PS some will definitly insult my intellect, call me idealistic and critcise what i believe in. But if my words touches anyone out there, may it turn out for the better good! God Bless!

Let me ask again: would it satisfy you people to round up and torture and kill some random Japanese people? Would this make you happier?
NO I do not want to kill nor torture Japanese. It definitely won't make me happier. And should I say that 99.9% of Chinese will not want to see that either. And 99.9% of Chinese were peacefully protesting and did NOT throw rock/damage properties. Yet the media focus on those 0.1%.
If not, what would make you happy? What precisely do you think should be done to address injustices carried out by a former Imperialist country?
I want Japanese, those exactly like you(who are still in denial), and 99.9% of the Japanese population, to learn about the WWII atrocity, and admit your ancestors made mistakes. You don't have to apologize, since YOU did not do it. you should also educate your children the whole truth and nothing but the truth. SHOW THE WORLD like the Germans.
Of course there are always 0.1% Japanese who are still militaristic, just like there are always 0.1% Chinese who will be throwing rocks at your embassys.

I do not seriously think that most Chinese people want to wantonly slaughter any Japanese people they can find: however, things like genocide are a possible result of racism. And I do think that what many protesters (maybe not most) feel is racism. Sentiments like "we hate the japanese" or "they are arrogant" or "I feel disgusted when I look at a Japanese" can easily lead to future violence. It is reported that echange students from Japan (people who obviously WANT to learn about and be in China) were attacked, although I cannot confirm this. What do you think of this? How are you going to address this? Are you going to pretend that human beings cannot be racists?
I want Japanese, those exactly like you(who are still in denial), and 99.9% of the Japanese population, to learn about the WWII atrocity, and admit your ancestors made mistakes. I agree I should teach my children (if I have any) about Japan's history if for no other reason than to illustrate the dangers of chauvenism and militarism, although you mistakenly assume I am Japanese. I never denied that Japan has invaded and commited war crimes in China, Korea and several other asian countries (so how can I be in denial?). In fact, WWII was not the first or only time Japan invaded its neighbours and slaughtered lots of people: it seems to have happened several times in recorded history. I also believe the majority of Japanese have some sense of this (if not specific detailed knowledge) because they seem adamantly opposed to Japan sending its troops to other countries for any reason (its in their constitution). Remember that during WWII, Japan became the first and only country t be attacked by nuclear weapons and I doubt few in Japan would like to see future wars with this possible outcome.
However, I would like to also point out that European countries were actively involved in colonizing Asia and when the Japanese army did take over a country, it was usually out of the hands of European colonialists (out of the frying pan and into the fire). Who is demanding the truth from them? I am sure those colonials were not the nicest people, but no one seems to know the history of colonialism in Asia (I sure don't). This is a double standard.
Of course there are always 0.1% Japanese who are still militaristic, just like there are always 0.1% Chinese who will be throwing rocks at your embassys.
Yes, but protestors were not attacking that 0.1% of Japanese, they were collectively blaming an entire country. It is not based on logic but is merely a reaction, a primal emotion. If you acknowledge that only 0.1% of Japanese people want any militaristic future, why would YOU protest at all?
For a balanced view on the protests on some useful background information, I found this link helpful:

I would enjoy hearing what others think of this article.

Also, I would like to add: having incomplete truth can be more dangerous than being ignorant.
By Anonymous, at 11:22 AM
I seriously believe now that the japanese do not really know their WWII history.
The brutality committed by the japanese males in the army extended to EVERY country that japan occupied. The thing I wish to see is that the Japanese, especially the ever chauvenistic males, stop acting like snobs. I know and agree that the people in Japan have done well technologically and perhaps socially before the war. But know that they were equally as brutal and have shown a very damning disrespect for humanity. I'd consider it undeveloped social awareness. The occupation is far worse than the colonist. Systematic slaughterings, racial discrimination and emotional scaring of females are the damning traits of the Japanese males. Understand that the japanese still have within them the mentality that they are of a superior blood. At least for the males. The moment one japanese thinks that the invasion of SEA was to 'liberate' the asian states from colonial rule, the meaning of WW2 is lost. I pity the women, even those in japan, who have to endure the double standards of the males! And on top of this, the very fact of argueing that nanking figures were too high is just so very wrong! They also argued that they did SEA a favour by driving the Europeans away. Its just by these little things that i hope you can see where the heart lies. And a new upcoming excuse i have recently been seeing is that now the japanse say its not their fault but the fault of their fore-fathers who committed the war crimes.... Sadly, once again, social awareness is not seen. The crimes their father's committed is still evident to this day. We lost much of our family lineage records and photos during the war. Many children grew up without knowledge of their father or the skills he learnt in his life.
And to add about the bombs, Japan was fortunate to be not forcefully invaded. They were lucky not to have their islands split into Russia, Korean or Chinese territories. One of the reasons why is also due the use of the bombs itself. They blew up hiroshima thinking it was a military city and that was a BIG mistake. Hence i felt Japan got off pretty light. Besides, what best way to appease their conquerers than with, once again, the very patient japanese woman. Know how the West were 'mersimised' by the 'man could do no wrong', 'man did no wrong' and 'man could never do wrong' that they women in japan had for their man. i draw this from the book 'Geisha' written by a western researcher.
Should i cry out for justice, bang down the doors and beat every japanese guy i see? No...... i shall not bring myself down to their level. ironically, Japanese like to speak of honour and sense of duty. They can talk and behave like kings for all they want, but at least our conscience is clear.
My short post is not for the japanese but for the rest of us, asians. We can never be satisifed with an apology that is forced upon. perhaps thats why the 17 Japanese apologies didn't carry enough weight. nevertheless, build up your family history. The japanese already had much of a head start because their homeland more or less remained intact thoughout history (even WWII) as they had lesser wars and and civil strife than China or Russia. Its better to fight for something (like a better family) than against something. Hope you understand.
By Big guy Shaky heart, at 9:11 AM

I feel so sorry for you. It makes me sad and even frightens me to hear so many
evil comments. You speak of people as though you know them personally.
You hold innocent people accountable for someone elses past. You stereo type
innocent people you have never met. Yes, people have suffered, yes innocent loved
ones on both sides of war have suffered greatly and died due to corrupt governments and
rulers and the atrocities of war. Have any of you learned from this? Don't you understand that the hatred you are displaying now is the same hatred that will only bring us back to the past. We are the voice of the future and unless we open our eyes and move forward our children will die and suffer just as all of our ancestors have.

When I started reading your blog I though you were not Chinese. Are you a real born Chinese ? That's sounds so amazing.
I know Japanese people are so stubborn, but since 60 years, they worked so hard to reconstruct their country, I feel worry to see people still angry about them. I am sure many of them feel ashamed about past. But, because I met have many Japanese friends, I realised that when they feel ashamed about something, they just keep silent.
I believe that if Chinese diplomacy whould get real apologies, they should calm down and be less aggressive. They could join their request associating other countries and be patient.
I know so many Chinese people who have Koreans, or Japanese friends, and they are totally outside those people complaining movement. It seems it's an old time quarel which started before war and it won't stop today nor tomorrow. Maybe the day after.
anyway that's sounds good to read your post, bye for now.

From my point of view, China has the right to be at Japan, not the Japanese. Japan SLAUGHTER 300,000 Chinese civilians, Japanese troops raped over 20,000 women, most of who were murdered thereafter. There were innumerable gruesome occurrences like these acts of cruelty seemingly beyond human capacity. After the slaughter, Japan never show any regret or shame toward the cruel act, not even a sign of pity. The Anti-Japanese movement wasn't looking for revenge, but seeking just and fair toward the incident. In WWII Japanese already declared that they were better than any race in Asia. They enforced the declaration by using LIVE Chinese and Korean civilian and POWs as experiment of biochemistry to improve on the biochemical warfare. While the experiment, the Japanese Government instituted a system of sexual slavery throughout the territories it occupied. During that time, women were recruited by force, coercion, or deception into sexual slavery for the Japanese military. These women were euphemistically referred to as "comfort women" by the Japanese Imperial Army. Overwhelmed by facts? Don't be, there is an old wise saying "those who didn’t learn from history are doom to repeat it itself". This applies to leylop, who is the "author" of "no anti-Japanese" and others who doesn't learn from history. THEY ARE DOOMED!!

Japan should apologize to the public for all the shit they have committed towards other countries. Why does the government have to be a pussy? I think Japan should admit their wrongs to the public, it will help their relations with other countries. The Jap government should stop being homosexual and apologize.

Why Chinese hate Japanese such dept? Chinese can forget the history of British for the opium war cousing China given up part of their territory including Hong Kong. Resulting British, Yankees, Dutch etc rushing in and dumping few thousand tons of opium annually to the mainland. http://www.druglibrary.org/SCHAFFER/heroin/historic.htm
We can't understand 1990 unless we know about 1890. I think thats why Chinese and korea Peoples still angry with japanese. The anger not just becouse of war and killing, but the way there kill. Brutal, savagery, merciless...(Not the number of people they killed proved their savage nature, but way they killed, the way they took pleasure in mutilating the victims' bodies... If one's behaviour shows one's character, the brutal acts of the million Japanese in China demonstrated the character of a "unique" people, one that was capable of unthinkable cruelty.)Refer to http://www.centurychina.com/wiihist/njmassac/end.htm
I think that's explain why...

Japanese contsantly deny these crimes and are trying to distort history by claiming that Japan liberated Asian nations. They claim that Pearl Harbor was never a sneak attack. And they also claim NanJing massacre was a lie that the US used to find excuses for dropping the A-Bombs on them. Japanese shrine the principal criminals in NanJing massacre as 'martyr's, who were sentenced to death after Japan surrendered. On ther other hand, allmost all the murderers in NanJing massacre have not been brought to justice. Many of the murderers are influential members in the Japanese society and government today.
We are not going to investigate the nature of Japanese, and we are not going to study its social and cultural behaviour here. Chinese taught Japanese how to write, how to dress, how to architect... while they were in the stone age. They repaid all the help by brutal massacres as soon as they learned the machinery from the west, the primitive savage heart combined with the power of the killing machines of the 20th century made Japan the evil of the evil. The only logical conclusion that one can reach after examing this chilling piece of history is this: Japanese were cruel, more than cruel! Not the number of people they killed proved their savage nature, but way they killed, the way they took pleasure in mutilating the victims' bodies... If one's behaviour shows one's character, the brutal acts of the million Japanese in China demonstrated the character of a "unique" people, one that was capable of unthinkable cruelty.

Japanese had a long history of cruelty and brutality: from the Japanese pirates that looted and killed many Chinese in the Ming Dynasty, to the Japanese massacred hundreds of thousands of Chinese civilians in LuuShun in Qing Dynasty, to the Japanese in the Nanjing Massacre, we see the same thing. And today, this picture has not changed a bit. Japan is a danger temporarily supressed by the power of the peaceful world. But as the evil grows and feels it is its time, it will try to do it again. The recent revisionist movement in Japan signals such a trend. We must be prepared.

We highly appraise the US Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki as the greatest demonstration of prevailing justice in the world history. These two bombings not only saved millions of Americans, they also saved more Chinese and other Asians who were dying at an atronomical rate under the massacres of the Japanese. The US conventional air raids on Japan in 1942 resulted in the rage of the Jap Emperor War Criminal Hirokito, who ordered to revenge on the Chinese people, as the consequence, over 250,000 Chinese civilians in ZheJiang province were massacred in the Jap. mopping-up campaign. The 39th division from Hiroshima conducted large scale massacres in central China, they murdered hundreds of thousands of civilians near ChangSha. The Bomb dropped at Hiroshima annhilated their backups and their fervent supporters. The second Bomb at Nagasaki saved the large number US POWs who were to be killed by the revenging Japanese. The two bombs finally stopped the crazy evil and restored peace in Asia. The Bombs are the symbols of human courage and resolution in fighting against the demons.

After half of century, Japanese have no remorse on what they did. A few murderers in the war confessed and wanted to tell the truth, however, often they are threatened with death by other Japanese. The Japanese government refuses to even apologize for its war crimes. Recently, exhibitions about the Nanjing Massacre were banned in some Japanese cities.... Covering up and denying their crimes, Japanese now try to depict themselves as victims of the war and charge US as a war criminal for its use of A-Bombs. Some of them even claim that China was responsible for the undeclared Japanese aggression. (Ref. The Fabrication of Nanjing Massacre, by Massaki Tanaka, 1984 )

We must make every effort to let the world know of the crimes committed by the Japanese. So we are prepared to stop the crimes from repeating. The crimes that Japan committed against humanity must be exposed, recorded and punished. Japan must confess its war crimes and make full compensation for the lost lives and property in its act of crimes, otherwise Chinese has the right to revenge for the fourty millions people murdered by Japanese. Justice must be served, otherwise it would be fatally naive to talk about peace. Chinese must seek justice for themselves, but rest of the cilvilized world need to understand and give them support.
It is the sense of justice that made us human.

I have compassion for the chinese people who were affected by the terrible crimbs commited by the Japanese, however I have other thoughts as well. I am an American, and have learned of the massacres of the native american people, and most americans feel nothing but shame for the acts commited by our ancestors. We live in peace with the desendants of the indians, where would we have been now if we had not droped the subject. The majority of the japanese people presently living in Japn did not commit those crimes, and those who did will for ever carrie the burden of knowing they ruined thousands of lives. If you do not drop the subject and simply give history juctice, than there will be a war. The crazy thing is though that people want more people to die in a war simply because they couldn't get over the people who trajicaly lost their lives morer than 60 years ago.
P.S.
I am eleven years old
